Play Ideas

With the Queen's Jubilee only a few weeks away, we have been getting into the spirit and setting up some Red, White and Blue themed play ideas.

Loose Parts Play

Collecting together items in 3 colours engages children to engage with fewer items, sorting them into colurs and textures. You could do this as a mixture of colours focus on one colour.

Nature Hunts - finding colours outdoors

Our Primary Treasure Tubes are perfect for this activity. Find colours in nature to match each tube or use the Kindness Heart to match flowers/natural objects with the colours.

Bookish Play

Books also offer a way to explore colours. How about Little Red Riding Hood, The Big Book og the Blue and The Proudest Blue to name a few.

Stacking

Stacking is a great challenge, problem solving hand eye coordination and fine motor skills practice. Make it Red, White and Blue for a bit of jubilee fun. Why not have a competition of who can stack the most?
